Pastor Johnny Hartless is the founding pastor of Grace Baptist Church (GBC). Over two decade ago, while praying for the Charlottesville area and the need for the gospel to be proclaimed, the truths of the Bible to be taught in a clear and loving way, and for people from all walks of life to feel welcome; God called Pastor Johnny to start a new church. In July of 2000, several families met in a house on Pritchett Lane to start what soon would become Grace Baptist Church. He went door-to-door, street-by-street, meeting the people in Charlottesville. Since then, others have been trained to make personal visits, and to share how God has changed their lives. As Grace Baptist Church grew, more space was needed and we moved several times to accommodate the increase in attendance. In April of 2008, we held our first service in our beautiful new facility on Pritchett Lane, the very same street where the church began. A Word from the Pastor...
